PanelLogic
PanelLogic · the optimiser
Says which part goes on which sheet, and what the order costs.
- Nests the parts on the sheet with grain direction respected, and takes the edge trim out of the board rather than adding it on.
- Stock: which sheets you have, which offcuts you have, and which offcuts go back after cutting.
- Edging: metres of band per side, with its type and price. Materials, priced per sheet or per square metre.
- The order quotation, on one page: sheets to buy, banding, machine work, labour and the total.
- Part labels, and the plan on paper as a PDF written millimetre by millimetre.
- Imports the parts list from your design software — csv, txt, tsv, xlsx, or pasted from Excel. It guesses the columns and shows you what it guessed.
What "the best plan" means, in the order that matters on the shop floor
- every part cut — one missing stops the assembly;
- as few sheets as possible — the sheet is the money;
- the largest intact offcut on the last sheet — an 800×600 offcut goes aside and is used next month; the same area in five-centimetre strips is waste.
Tries many layouts and keeps the best one; searches for as long as you choose in Settings (short, medium, long). An extra sheet takes a day's work.
