We lived the problem.

We built the solution.

From the workshop, for the workshop.

PanelLogic + SawPilot · for furniture workshops

The cutting plan, from the parts list to the last cut.

PanelLogic works out the cutting for chipboard and MDF: which part on which sheet, how much edge band, which offcut is worth keeping, what the order costs. SawPilot sits on the tablet next to the saw and says which cut comes next. Both work with no internet. One payment, no subscription, no monthly anything.

PanelLogic SawPilot

Guillotine by construction.

Whole millimetres, the blade counted between parts. What comes out can be cut on a sliding table saw, not just on paper.

Thirty languages. The site and the program.

The vocabulary comes from panel saw manuals: "sheet", "fence setting", "intact offcut". The same word on the site and in the program.

Two programs, one cutting plan.

The two programs meet at a single point: the cutting plan. PanelLogic works it out, SawPilot keeps it open on the tablet for as long as the sheet lasts. Each does its own job.

At work, in the workshop.

Two short clips, no voice, no music, taken from the real programs: an order worked out in PanelLogic and a sheet taken cut by cut in SawPilot.

Paste the list from your design software, pick the material, press "Optimize". The sheet, the intact offcut, the edging, the quotation.

The real screens, in working order: the board on the table, the lit cut, the fence setting, the part that cannot be released, "Done".

Price

Once. No subscription.

You pay once and the programs are yours. What unlocks them is a short signed note kept on the machine, so once it is there they work with the network unplugged, and the note renews itself quietly whenever the machine has internet. There is nothing to renew by hand and nothing to pay again. One sheet saved pays for the program.

Questions

Does it work without internet?

Yes, both. The whole cutting side works with the network unplugged. PanelLogic needs the internet only for the licence and for buying; SawPilot needs it for the same. The label goes to the printer over your own network, over Bluetooth or down a cable, so it needs no internet at all.

Which design software do I need?

Any that exports the parts list as csv, txt, tsv or xlsx — or paste the rows from Excel. PanelLogic reads the columns in any order and shows you what it guessed; what you say beats what the program guessed.

Can I use SawPilot without PanelLogic?

Yes, with any DXF plan file. Four sheets come with the app, so you can see how it works before bringing your own. It can be bought on its own, for €39.

What happens to my data?

The drawings, the parts lists and the plans stay on the device. No ads, no analytics, no tracking library in either program. The free part of PanelLogic needs no account, and nothing you type into it comes to us. Buying a licence means we hold your e-mail address, what you bought, the payment reference, and the name and last-seen date of each machine you activate — and, for two days after you ask for a code in order to buy, a fingerprint of the address and of your network. After you delete the account two things stay: the record of the sale, for as long as the law makes an invoice answerable, and the licence log. The whole list is in the privacy policy, and it is short.

What if I change my phone?

You switch the old one off from your account and activate the new one. It takes a minute and costs nothing. A machine that has not been seen for 90 days lets go of its place on its own, so a computer that died on you is not a slot lost for ever.

How many computers can I use it on?

3 at a time, on one licence — the phone, the computer in the office, the tablet by the saw. Not 3 for ever: swap one for another whenever you like, from your account.

What if I have no internet in the workshop?

Then it works anyway. Activating a machine needs the network once, for a few seconds. After that the licence is a signed note on that machine, renewed quietly whenever the machine happens to have internet — you never see it happen. A machine that goes 14 days without any internet at all falls back to the free part until it gets some. The free part needs neither account nor licence — though on Android it does greet Google Play at start-up, so that it can show the buy button, and it gives it nothing of your work.

What do I get when a new version comes out?

Every update to version 1 is included, for as long as there is a version 1. If there is ever a version 2 it may be sold separately, and people who already bought will get it cheaper. We will not turn version 1 off.

Is it on the App Store?

Not yet. PanelLogic runs on Android, on Windows as a single file you double-click, and in any browser — including the one on an iPhone, where it installs to the home screen and works offline. SawPilot is for the Android tablet by the saw.

Can somebody else in the workshop use my licence?

It is one licence for one workshop, on 3 machines at a time, and nobody minds who holds the tablet. What it is not is something to pass around outside the firm or resell.
